Isaac Silva U. is an Ecuadorian composer. His passion for music started at a very young age while watching movies and playing video games with his brother. At five, he started piano lessons under the instruction of Sandra Marín. He graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Ecuador.

 

Soon after his graduation, he attended the LUCA School of Arts in Leuven, Belgium, where he studied Piano Performance and Choral Conducting . He returned to Ecuador to study Contemporary Music Performance in Piano and graduated from Universidad San Francisco de Quito in 2018. In 2022, he graduated from UNCSA with his Masters in Fine Arts in Film Music Composition.

His compositions have been performed in several countries like the United States, Canada, Spain, and Brasil by musicians like Ethel string quartet, and theremin player Thorwald Jørgensen. He is currently one of the selected composers for the Salestina’s Young Composers Program with composer Derrick Skye, and his upcoming string quartet is going to be performed at Mostly Modern Festival The Netherlands 2023 by Dior String Quartet.

Isaac is researching the Ecuadorian musical rhythms and merging them with his own music compositions involving different art disciplines, and its interaction within the community. He is also advocating for a better educational system in Ecuador for its community and a deep involvement of the arts in the high schools and universities around the country.
